The short version

DentalAgora is free to use and most of it works without giving us anything. You can read every guide, browse the directories, and run the calculators without an account, without an email address, and without being tracked across the internet.

When you do hand us information โ€” an email on a form, a message in a community room, a classifieds listing โ€” we use it for the specific thing you asked for. We do not sell personal information, we do not rent or share it with data brokers, and we do not run advertising networks on this site.

What we collect, and only when you give it

We collect nothing about you until you choose to submit something. Here is the complete list:

  • โ€บPractice search and valuation requests (The Finder, valuation): your email address plus whatever you type โ€” state or metro, specialty, budget or collections range, timeline, and free-text notes.
  • โ€บJob-seeker profiles (The Guild): first and last name, email, specialty, career stage, preferred states, schedule preference, your notes, and โ€” only if you tick the box โ€” that you are open to hearing about practice ownership.
  • โ€บClassifieds listings (The Classifieds): the item details, price, and location you post, plus your email. Your email is never displayed publicly โ€” buyers reach you through our relay.
  • โ€บCommunity messages (The Commons): the display name you pick (a real name is not required) and the text of your message. These are public โ€” treat every post as permanently visible to anyone.
  • โ€บPractice analyzer sessions (Ask Morgan): the website address you enter, any practice numbers you type in, your chat messages, and your email if you choose to have results sent to you.
  • โ€บOrdinary server logs: our hosting provider records standard request data (IP address, timestamp, page requested, user agent) for security and abuse prevention. We also hold a short-lived record of IP addresses posting to community rooms purely to rate-limit spam.

We never ask for and do not want protected health information. Do not post patient names, images, charts, or any other identifying patient detail anywhere on this site.

What the calculators do NOT collect

The overhead benchmark and the practice comparison tool run entirely inside your browser. The numbers you enter are never transmitted to us, never stored, and disappear when you close the tab. That is why they require no email and produce no follow-up.

How we use it

  • โ€บTo do the thing you asked for โ€” send you matching listings, respond to a valuation request, relay a buyer's interest in your equipment, post your message in the room you chose.
  • โ€บTo operate and protect the site: preventing spam, abuse, and fraud.
  • โ€บTo improve the free material โ€” in aggregate. Which guides get read, which tools get used. Not who read what.
  • โ€บTo reply to you. If you write to us, we keep the correspondence so we can pick up the thread.

We do not use your information to build an advertising profile, we do not do behavioral retargeting, and we do not add you to unrelated mailing lists. If you asked about buying a practice, you hear from us about buying a practice.

Who else touches it

We use a small number of standard service providers to run the site: a cloud hosting platform, a managed database, a transactional email service, and a third-party AI provider that powers the analyzer and the in-room assistant. They process data only to provide those services to us, under contract, and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

Beyond that: we disclose personal information only when you direct us to (for example, relaying your email to a listing owner you contacted), or when required by law. We do not sell personal information, and we have not sold or shared it for cross-context behavioral advertising in the preceding twelve months.

Links to outside sites โ€” lenders, CPAs, brokers, job sources, podcasts โ€” are provided for your convenience. Once you click through, that site's own privacy policy governs. We receive no payment for those links and we do not pass your information to them.

Cookies and local storage

DentalAgora sets no advertising cookies and runs no third-party ad or social tracking pixels. The only client-side storage we use is your browser's local storage, which remembers the display name you chose for the community rooms so you do not have to retype it. You can clear it any time through your browser settings, and nothing on the site breaks if you do.

Our hosting provider may set strictly necessary cookies for security and load balancing. Those are not used for advertising or profiling.

How long we keep things

  • โ€บCommunity posts: until you (or we) remove them. Ask and we will delete yours.
  • โ€บClassifieds listings: while the listing is active, and for a reasonable period after so we can resolve disputes. Ask and we will remove it sooner.
  • โ€บLeads, profiles, and correspondence: as long as needed for the purpose you submitted them, and then a reasonable archival period. Ask and we will delete them.
  • โ€บServer logs: a short rolling window, then discarded.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, and you can withdraw consent to further contact at any time. Email hello@dentalagora.com and say what you want done. We do not charge for this and we will not retaliate against you for asking.

California residents have specific rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended (CCPA/CPRA): the right to know the categories and specific pieces of personal information collected, the sources, and the purposes; the right to delete; the right to correct; the right to opt out of sale or sharing; and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising any of them. Because we do not sell or share personal information, there is no "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" mechanism to operate โ€” but if that ever changes, this policy changes first and the opt-out appears here.

We may need to verify a request before acting on it โ€” normally by confirming you control the email address associated with the information.

Security, children, and changes

We use industry-standard transport encryption and access controls, and we hold as little as we can get away with โ€” the best protection for data is not collecting it. No system is perfectly secure, so please do not send us anything through this site that you would not want disclosed.

DentalAgora is a professional resource for adults in and around dentistry. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

If we change this policy we will update the effective date at the top. Material changes will be called out on the page rather than slipped in quietly.

Questions, corrections, or requests

Email hello@dentalagora.com. We answer privacy, deletion, correction, and takedown requests within 30 days, and usually far faster.
